Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Judie Farrugia, a textiles and fibre artist.

Born on the Mediterranean island of Malta in a predominately female household, my passion for textiles and fibres was sowed by the discarded scraps of fabric, thread and wool that fuelled my imagination and embodied the protagonists in my stories.

My approach to each piece is curiosity, both for the medium and materials used. I'm also deeply curious about what emerges when the piece becomes a visual channel for emotions.

Sometimes the work is an observation or a comment on the world around me - my immediate circle, my community, or the world at large. Sometimes it is my inner emotions being expressed in colours, textures, and shapes. It is always meditative, passionate, and a story is told.
